Rug Hooking with T-Shirts

Service Description

Wondering what to do with all those old t-shirts? Create beautiful rugs that will bring years of enjoyment. Students will learn the basics of rug hooking, how to transfer a design, choosing the best kinds of t-shirts and other types of upcycled fabrics, cutting into useable strips, and choosing colors that will make your rugs "pop". Students will be provided with a kit that includes a design, rug hook, backing, and t-shirt fabric. This does not include background fabric. Students will be encouraged to use their creativity to create the background. Templates will be available. Supplies required: large scissors, a 14" hoop suitable for rug hooking (not an embroidery hoop). Non-slip hoops are available for purchase from instructor ($50.00 plus tax or $56.00). Students may also wish to bring a t-shirt to incorporate into their design. Class is $95.00 including HST. CLASS CANCELLED - MAY BE RESCHEDULED FOR JANUARY
