Beginner Rug Hooking

Service Description

Learn how to hook rugs using wool strips, yarn and t-shirts. In this 4 hour class, students will be provided with a 6" x 6"design on Monk's cloth with pre-cut strips and a rug hook. The design varies with each class. Learn the basics of rug hooking including transferring a pattern, how to enlarge the design into a pillow or small rug, sourcing recycled fabric, hand-cutting wool fabric and t-shirts into useable strips, hooking a straight and curved line, a corner and circle, and finishing the rug. Supplies required: scissors and a snack. A 14" hoop is required and can be purchased from the studio ($50.00 plus tax). Follow-up support is available. Class is $100.00 plus HST or $112.00. Former students are welcome to attend for ongoing support with their projects at no charge. Please note: if you have allergies, there is a dog and cat in the home.
